1. The Ocean Course

This course features 10 different holes that hug the Atlantic Ocean, marking the most seaside holes anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. The other 8 run directly parallel to the seaside holes. Designed by Pete Dye, this course hosted the 1991 Ryder Cup and the PGA Championships in both 2012 and 2021! The constantly changing winds make it a challenge for even the most experienced golfers.

2. Turtle Point

Designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, Turtle Point is a stunningly beautiful course that requires strategy. Generous fairways and strategically placed lagoons make this place to play golf on Kiawah Island more about the mind than muscle. Holes 14 through 16, run alongside the Atlantic Ocean and provide some of the best views anywhere on the island, making them the highlight of Turtle Point. This course is the perfect blend of beauty and challenge.

3. Osprey Point

Osprey Point marries playability with classic Lowcountry scenery for an unforgettable round of golf on Kiawah Island! Designed by Tom Fazio and renovated in 2014, each hole offers something unique. With wide fairways and large greens but strategically placed bunkers and water hazards, it provides a memorable experience for every golfer. With saltwater marshes, lagoons, and maritime forest, it’s a course that feels like the Lowcountry.

4. Cougar Point

The brainchild of 9-time major championship winner Gary Player, Cougar Point is new and improved thanks to a 2017 renovation! It invites golfers to carefully balance risk and reward on a course that includes scenic marsh views and variety. The front half of this course runs along the Kiawah River, providing golfers with stunning views and often glimpses of wildlife. Cougar Point was awarded 4.5 stars in Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play list!

5. Oak Point

Oak Point is often referred to as “the thinking golfer’s course” as success depends on strategy and accuracy. A Clyde Johnston original, this place to play golf on Kiawah Island was named the 2019 Charleston Golf Course Owners Association Course of the Year. It’s a great choice for inexperienced golfers as it’s one of the more forgiving and less challenging options when it comes to the courses at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Oak Point is positioned by the Kiawah River and Haulover Creek, surrounded by forests.
